BackLinks.com is a free online service that allows webmasters of quality web sites to easily trade text links with one another. Because the web pages in our database are required to have a pagerank of 1 or higher, our service helps you increase the link popularity, traffic and pagerank of your web site. Our goal is to provide a community portal where webmasters can search for and offer quality text links to other users in a wide variety of different categories.

Below is an overview of how BackLinks.com works:

1. Register for a BackLinks.com account.
2. Copy a small section of code from your account control panel and paste it into every page where you want to display text links. You have the ability to customize the font, color, etc of the text links on your web pages.
3. Validate your web pages within your control panel (the validation process confirms that the code is working correctly)
4. Once your web pages are validated, they are added to our database where other members can browse and search for them.
5. You will also be able to search and browse for web pages to trade links on.
6. After you or any member makes a link trade request, it shows up in your control panel. You can then accept or decline the request.

The primary factor in getting high rankings in search engines is acquiring quality and relevant links to your web site. Search engines such as Google and Yahoo use link popularity as the primary way to rank web sites. This is especially true for links from relevant or related web sites. The BackLinks.com service helps you increase your link popularity and link relevancy by creating a community of webmasters and business owners who have a common goal - increasing search engine rankings.

The web pages within the BackLinks.com database are required to have a pagerank of 1 or higher. This ensures a high level of quality for all members, whether you want to trade, sell or buy text links. In addition, we do not allow web pages containing pornography, racist information, warez downloads, excessive popups, or illegal content.

In order to use our service we require that you paste a small section of code (PHP, ASP, etc) into each of the web pages where you will be adding text links. This code enables BackLinks.com dynamically insert or remove text links on your web pages based on the preferences set within your control panel. These preferences will include link trades that you approve, custom displays, etc. Everything will be managed from within your control panel.

Our text link management software currently supports web sites that use server side processing. This includes any web site that uses PHP, ASP, PERL, etc. In addition most forum web sites and blogs will also support our software. If your web pages do not support server side scripting such as PHP or ASP, you may use an alternate to parse your web pages. For example, on Apache, you can use a .htaccess file to parse PHP within .html pages.

Your web pages may contain contextually served ads such as Google Adwords and YPN ads. Our Text Link serving technology is NOT pay per click or contextually served ads. BackLinks.com only serves static text links to members web pages.

Although our service is free of charge, we do require that you provide one text link on each of your web pages to BackLinks.com advertisers. You will have the ability to filter text links from any category that you do not want displayed on your web pages.
