BackLinks.com Changes Metrics

From PR to DA – BackLinks.com Changes Metrics

With access to data for hundreds of thousands of link building campaigns, we know pretty quickly when things start to change in SEO. So, when Google announced they would no longer update PageRank in the toolbar, we weren’t really surprised. In fact, we had been expecting it since a survey we conducted last year.

Why Are You Changing Metrics?

One of the benefits of the BackLinks system is that you receive credits back if a page with your link looses PR. Since we can no longer get accurate PR info, there is no way for us to verify that you are getting the PR value you are paying for.

Why MOZ Domain Authority?

Since our survey last year, we have been tracking and evaluating a number of site criteria and we feel confident that the most reliable alternative is MOZ Domain Authority. We chose to switch to Domain Authority because:

1) It takes a number of metrics into consideration
2) It updates more frequently than PR, and
3) We have a reliable method for getting and tracking the data. (Learn More…)

Advertiser Questions

Will My Monthly Costs Change?

Nope. To make the transition as smooth as possible, we made it so that your existing links will continue to be billed at the same rate for as long as you have them. 1 credit still equals $1 per month, so your existing orders / recurring payments will not change.

The MOZ DA-based pricing will only apply to new links, which includes links created when your existing queues run and new links that are placed to replace links removed by our link monitor.

Will BackLinks.com Prices Change?

Since 1 credit still equals $1 per month, the only thing that is changing is how you spend your credits. Instead of basing the cost of a link on the PR of the page, the cost will be based on MOZ Domain Authority.

Home page prices won’t change. But, sub page prices are now 25% of the home page price. Also, sub domains (ex: health.mysite.com) now count as sub pages.

What Will Happen With My Existing Link Queues?

Your existing link queues have been mapped to the corresponding DA ranges. So, for example, if your PR range was PR 1-2, your DA range is 10 -19.

Likewise, if a link is removed by our link monitor and needs to be replaced, it will be replaced on a page in the corresponding DA range.

Publisher Questions

Will My Earnings For Existing Links Change?

Nope. To make the transition as smooth as possible, we made it so that existing links will continue to be billed at the same rate as long as you keep them on your site. Credits are still worth the same monthly revenue, so the amount you have earned for your existing links will not change.

The MOZ DA-based commission will only apply to new links.

How Much Will I Earn For New Links?

The commission per credit will not change, just the metric. Instead of basing your commission on the PR of the page, it will be based on the MOZ Domain Authority of the site.

The only other changes are that sub page prices are now 25% of the home page price, and sub domains (ex: health.mysite.com) now count as sub pages.
